West End Congregational Church is a small open
minded church which is part of the Congregational Federation.. Sunday
worship is normally along traditional non-conformist lines and the
church's ethos reflects a liberal tradition of faith, one which
is tolerant and intellectually critical. The present Minister is
a minister of the United Reformed Church who has served West End
Congregational Church since 1981.
The essential principle of Congregationalism is the autonomy of
the local church to the exclusion of any deciding authority outside
it. This polity is held to be in accord with the practice of first-century
Christianity. |
